The Right Selection of Underwear For Pregnant Women

Pregnancy is a period in a woman’s life when her body changes significantly. The abdomen, breasts, thighs and buttocks get bigger. Clothes worn before pregnancy oppress and irritate. It is worth investing in pregnant clothes that are comfortable, comfortable and suitable for future mothers. Particular attention should be paid to the selection of underwear and appropriate shoes.

Pregnant women, especially in the summer, have a huge selection of maternity clothes: from blouses, dresses, tunics, to special maternity pants or dungarees. You do not need to immediately replace the entire wardrobe – many clothes from before pregnancy can still be worn in the first, and often in the second trimester – especially if they are comfortable, loose and stretchy. In the second half of pregnancy, the growing belly and breasts require putting on a looser outfit – it is very important that the wardrobe items do not press on the growing belly or bust. In the second half of pregnancy, it is worth replacing jeans with pants made of other materials – loose, airy, stretchy. It is important that they allow air access to the skin, especially to the woman’s intimate areas. In maternity clothing stores you can find skirts and trousers with an elastic band or – specially created for pregnant women – with an elastic waistband that adapts to your growing belly.

Another option is to wear pants in which the belt is below the belly without causing unnecessary pressure. It is convenient even in the second trimester of pregnancy, however, when the abdomen becomes larger, it is good to support it by putting on high pregnancy pants with non-compressive material that properly supports the abdomen.

Maternity panties
As for panties – in the first trimester you can wear the same panties as before pregnancy, provided they are: cotton, loose, providing access to intimate areas. This is an important element of intimate hygiene, which is especially important now because, during pregnancy infections of the vagina, vulva and urinary system are easier. You should give up underwear made of artificial fabrics.

Avoid plastic lace and other components that may irritate the skin. If a woman wore a thong before pregnancy, she can still wear it in the first weeks of pregnancy, but only if it is: good quality, cotton, comfortable and does not cause abdominal pressure. It is good, however, to replace thongs with panties or pregnancy briefs during pregnancy.

In many stores, you can find beautiful, sensual, maternity underwear decorated with frills and lace. It is important to choose underwear that is made of natural materials, preferably cotton, allowing the skin to breathe. Underwear must not cause chafing or skin irritation.
